The Young Photographer Competition is a well-established and successful competition organised and promoted by Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland. The Rotary Club of Aylesbury Hundreds, your local Rotary Club, covering Aylesbury and the surrounding villages is arranging local heats and is looking to encourage entries to at three age levels ranging from 7 to 17.


There are three stages to the competition, each designed to support and encourage the development of photographic skills. Some stages may have more than one round.

This year, you are asked to produce a portfolio of three photographs based upon the theme, ‘Wild Nature’ in colour or black and white. Mobile Phones may be used in addition to cameras.

Who can take part?


The competition is open to all schools and college communities and those who are home educated, along with any other young peoples’ community organisations, for example, community RotaKids, community Interact, Scout Groups, Girl Guides.


There are three age groups:


Junior:                         7 to 10 years old

Intermediate:            11 to 13 years old

Senior:                      14 to 17 years old

How to Enter

Entrants are required to complete an entry form and submit it along with their photographs, to the local stage organiser by 1st December 2020.

To enter you must submit three photos that fit with the theme of 'Wild Nature' and to accompany the portfolio, each entrant must provide a brief sentence describing the relationship of each photograph to the theme.
